It doesn't seem to affecting other brands I checked (<a href=\"https:\/\/reviewsignal.com\/webhosting\/company\/1\/hostgator\/\">HostGator<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reviewsignal.com\/webhosting\/company\/45\/ipage\/\">iPage<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reviewsignal.com\/webhosting\/company\/33\/asmallorange\/\">A Small Orange<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reviewsignal.com\/webhosting\/company\/110\/arvixe\/\">Arvixe<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reviewsignal.com\/webhosting\/company\/106\/site5\/\">Site5<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It is very strange that HostGator isn't down this time. Their last major outage in 2013 affected all four of those brands (source: <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2013\/08\/02\/bluehost-down\/#OqhRX4zGUEqf\">mashable<\/a>). I am wondering if their infrastructure has been separated meaningfully between HostGator and the other three.<\/p>\n<p>I've heard rumors of a DDoS attack from people saying that's what support told them.
