@MOSologist DreamHost is ok, hit or miss. I have been using a2hosting.com a lot lately. They are pretty good and based right in Ann Arbor.

thinking of switching my site form @Dreamhost to EC2... Dreamhost's customer service is great, but having root access is nicer
